Karl Eldrew Yulo put on a show Friday by winning all four apparatus finals in the secondary boys artistic gymnastics competitions of the 63rd Palarong Pambansa at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Eldrew, a 15-year-old gymnast from Adamson High School and younger brother of two-time world champion Carlos Yulo, topped the floor exercise, vault, horizontal bar and the pommel horse for the National Capital Region.
The pride of Leveriza, Manila completed the sweep with six medals after securing the individual and team all-around events for NCR earlier.
Yulo’s teammate Hillarion Pales secured the silver medals in all of the apparatuses with another NCR gymnast King Pernia pocketing all four bronze medals in the apparatus.
Meanwhile, Region VI picked up two more gold medals in athletics in the 4×100-meter relay.
Western Visayas struck gold in the secondary boys 4×100-m relay thanks to the efforts of John de Asis, Kent Paul Burdan, Earl Kieth Servano and Mico Villaran as they clocked in 43.18 seconds.
Region VI also won in the elementary girls 4×100-m relay after the quartet of Shanelle Jane Felomino, Ma. Jerlyn Ariego, Karen Babi-an and Febie Kate Brito logged 54.16 seconds for the gold.
As of press time, NCR remains on top with 42 gold, 43 silver and 34 bronze medals for a total of 119 medals with Western Visayas at second with a 40-29-24 medal tally for 93 medals.
Region IV-A sits in third place with 109 medals behind a 34-40-35 gold-silver-bronze medal collection.
