Alex Eala resumes her quest for a fourth singles title in the W25 Roehampton at the National Tennis Centre in London.
Eala, 18, will be entering the tournament as the sixth seed as she is currently facing Australia’s Gabriella Da Silva Fick in the Round of 32 as of press time.
Da Silva Flick is currently at No. 781 in the latest Women’s Tennis Association rankings, giving Eala a good chance to advance to the next round.
The graduate of the world-famous Rafael Nadal Academy last competed in the W60 Barcelona in Spain last week where she made it as far as the quarterfinal before falling to hometown bet Georgina Garcia-Perez, 4-6, 3-6, last Saturday at the UP Cornellà – TEC Carles Ferrer Salat in Barcelona.
Eala is not only looking to follow up on her W25 Yecla women’s singles trophy last June but is also seeking to improve her WTA as she is currently at No. 250.
She is also building up for her debut in the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China from 23 September to 8 October.
Eala will also be chasing her first women’s doubles crown as she teams up with Australian netter Destanee Aiava against the duo of Naho Sato and Eri Shimizu of Japan.
Her latest result in a women’s doubles match was a 6-4, 3-6, 3-10 loss against Estelle Cascino of France and Latvia’s Diana Marcinkevica when she joined hands with Great Britain’s Emilie Lindh Gallagher.
