Around this time of the year, Pauline del Rosario was turning heads after she placed joint 12th in the Four Winds Invitational on her freshman year in Epson Tour.
But the 24-year-old has been in doldrums the past year in the Tour where she suffered five missed cuts in 13 starts. Her best finish so far this was T22 in Champions Fore.
That’s why she’s got a lot on her plate when she bannered four other Filipinas in the 2023 Four Winds slated 10-12 August at South Bend Country Club in Indiana.
Joining her are the usual bunch of Filipinas waiting for their turn to hit stardom like Dottie Ardina, Clariss Guce, Abegail Arevalo and Chanelle Avaricio.
The 144-player field has been finalized by the Epson Tour. The “Road to the LPGA” concludes its two-week swing in the Hoosier State.
Athletes will compete for $200,000 in a 54-hole stroke play format, with a cut being made to the top 60 and ties after Friday’s second round. Tournament admission is free.
Among those seeing action are this year’s Epson Tour winners Agathe Laisne, Gabriela Ruffels, Miranda Wang, Gigi Stoll, Savannah Vilaubi, Jenny Coleman, Jiwon Jeon, Alena Sharp, Siyun Liu, Tsai Ching Tseng and Jenny Bae.
