UNITED KINGDOM — Angelo Que and Miguel Tabuena spearheaded the Filipino campaign after shooting 70s Thursday at the start of the International Series England.

The 45-year-old Que is tied for 16th entering the second round Friday with birdies on Hole Nos. 4, 15 and 16, following bogeys on Hole Nos. 8 and 10.

Tabuena signed for the same score, four shots off the leader in the $2-million tournament at Close House Colt Course in New Castle.

Lloyd Go was tied at 40th after a 71.

Meanwhile, Thai Suwannarut Sarit sizzled with a five-under 66 to set the pace.

That round marked the Thai’s strength in character following a bogey in the second hole. He charged and never looked back for a one-shot lead following birdies on Hole Nos. 3, 6, 8, 10, 14 and 17.

Chasing him at joint second place are South Korea’s Kom Jae-Woong and American’s Jason Kokrak who turned in 67s.
