Kaya FC-Iloilo continues to wreak havoc in the 2023 Copa Paulino Alcantara after an 11-0 thrashing over Garelli United FC at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex last Saturday.
Marwin Angeles led Kaya with a hat trick after scoring in the 46th, 73rd, and 76th minutes in the game.
This year’s Philippines Football League top goal scorer Daizo Horikoshi (67th and 80th minutes), Abou Sy (60th and 80th), and Man of the Match Ricki Sendra (8th and 45th minutes) joined the carnage with a brace each against a battered Garelli side that was already eliminated prior to the match.
Kaya also got goals from Arnel Amita and Jhan Melliza in the 9th and 14th minutes respectively.
The squad already scored 18 goals in just two games played in Group A of the Copa Paulino Alcantara while also not conceding a goal.
Kaya coach Colum Curtis was pleased with his wards’ scoring prowess.
“I’m happy with the players’ performance. It doesn’t matter who scores,” Curtis said.
“We made some tactical adjustments at halftime to get the midfielders beyond the last line and create space for our forward players.
