EV Solutions has opened its doors in San Juan City, Metro Manila as a premier distributor of Tesla electric vehicles. Tesla, a name synonymous with innovation and sustainable electric vehicles, has been a distant dream for many Filipino car enthusiasts.
With the opening of EV Solutions, that dream is now a reality. Lloyd Balajadia, president of EV Solutions, is at the helm of this venture, and his vision goes beyond selling cars.
“EV Solutions isn’t just a showroom, it’s our commitment to a sustainable future. As you drive or harness the power of the sun, remember this evening and the promise it’s holding. Together, let’s champion a greener world. Thank you and here’s to the road ahead,” Balajadia stated during the grand opening.
EV Solutions is a sister company to Altersun Energy Resources, one of the leading solar power providers in the country. What sets EV Solutions apart is its holistic approach to electric mobility.
With any Tesla purchase, customers receive a five-kilowatt solar charging system with free installation, on top of the included original Tesla AC wall charger.
The output from the solar charging system, if put directly into charging the purchased vehicle, approximately translates to about 80 kilometers of range for free.
It’s a tangible commitment to renewable energy, combining Altersun’s background in solar energy and Balajadia’s broader mission to reduce carbon emissions.
The showroom along EDSA in San Juan has space to showcase two vehicles. Currently, a Tesla Model 3 and Model Y are on display.
The Model 3 on offer is the base, single-motor, rear-wheel drive model and retails for P4 million, while the Model Y is being sold for P4.6 million. Balajadia mentions that they currently have stocks of the 3 and the Y, with the X and more high-end Model S awaiting final pricing, but available for orders.
As to where the cars are sourced, Balajadia said: “Well, we get it where it’s best for our customers. Because primarily, the S and the X, they are manufactured in the US. It’s better that you get it from there.”
“But the 3 is easier to get from (China). And there are also benefits from China. Of course, it’s closer. At the same time, the charging is compatible with the charging that we have here.”
Engineer Jurieve Bagay of EV Solutions, go-to product lead for the company with deep knowledge of the EVs for sale, said the Tesla Model 3, with its blend of performance and practicality, is poised to attract those seeking an introduction to electric mobility.
Bagay provided insights into the Model 3’s features, including an eight-kilowatt maximum wall charger and 50 percent less maintenance compared to conventional vehicles.
Vehicle check-ups are done once a year at a separate service center owned and operated by EV Solutions and include checks on the brake systems, air filtration systems and coolant systems, among others.
Until 25 August, EV Solutions is offering a P300,000 discount on the Tesla Model 3, bringing the retail price down from P4 million to P3.7 million. It’s a limited-time opportunity that aligns with the company’s efforts to make electric vehicles accessible.
