GAC Motor Philippines has reached another milestone with remarkable record sales of 825 units in the past seven months this year.
Franz Decloedt, marketing director of Astara Philippines, made the announcement during the kickoff of the three-day GAC Discovery Drive Fest on Friday, 25 August, at the Glorietta 2 in Makati City.
“This event is also our way of celebrating the overwhelming response of the market towards GAC Motor,” Decloedt said. “July was another banner month for GAC as we achieved retail sales of 200 units bringing our year-to-date volume sales of 825 units.”
“This is another industry best for GAC with 276 percent year-on-year growth.”
Decloedt also bared that total sales would likely breach the 1,000 units mark by the end of August.
GAC Motor, according to Decloedt, has opened dealerships in Cebu, Butuan and Iloilo in July followed by Batangas, Lipa City and Manila Bay this month.
He added that they are on track to hit the target of at least 20 dealerships by the year-end from its current 16 fully operational facilities.
To double down on the celebration, GAC Motor unveiled the top-of-the-line model of its flagship luxury crossover SUV: The 2024 GS8 4X4.
The GS8 4×4 has all the standard equipment found on the GS8 two-wheel drive version which was launched earlier this year.
It has the same interior as its front-drive variant including full leather seats, power-adjustable front seats, a 14.6-inch HD touchscreen display, a 7-inch digital display, a wireless charging pad, tri-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and intelligent LED ambient lighting.
It is also equipped with a 360-degree view monitor with front and rear parking sensors, 20-inch alloy wheels and a power tailgate with auto remote function.
Added features in GS8 4×4 are a 10-speaker Alpine Sound System, a cooled central armrest compartment and an “intelligent four-wheel drive” system fit for any terrain.
The driving modes include Economy, Comfort, Sport, Sand Mud and Snow.
Just like the two-wheel drive version, GS8 4×4 uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine. It puts out 248 PS at 5200 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1750 — 4000 rpm.
It shifts via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The GS8 4×4 is offered at a special introductory price of P2,548,000.
“It is now available for booking at all GAC Motor dealerships nationwide,” Decloedt said.
