TOKYO, Japan — Dave Apolinario makes his debut on Japanese soil Wednesday night as he collides with iron-chinned Mexican Brian Mosinos in an eight-round flyweight duel at the famed Korakuen Hall.
Unbeaten in 18 fights with 13 knockouts, Apolinario gets the chance to test his punching power against the durable Mosinos, who packs a 23-5 record with six knockouts.
During Tuesday’s official weigh-in in neighboring Yokohama, both fighters came in at 112.6 lbs.
Promoted by Ohashi Promotions, which also manages Naoya “Monster” Inoue, the Apolinario-Mosinos encounter was facilitated by JC Mananquil of Sanman Promotions of General Santos City.
Mananquil, also the promoter of two-belt super bantamweight champion Marlon Tapales, is joined here by his inner circle made up of Ramon Falgui and Mike Pelayo.
Apolinario spent the last couple of days training at the Ohashi Gym.
