Motorists are advised to equip their vehicles with RFID stickers to be ready for the dry run of the 100 percent RFID-enabled lanes at selected toll plazas across the country.
That goes for users of both AutoSweep and EasyTrip.
Jack L. Coson, President and General Manager of EasyTrip, a subsidiary that plays a key role in this endeavor, said: “We’re laying down the foundations for the smart urban future that we’re envisioning for Filipinos. Ultimately, we are aiming for an elevated customer experience and hassle-free driving for Filipinos.”
“With this new implementation, motorists will relish cashless transactions — reflecting MPT Mobility’s commitment to enhancing convenience and efficiency for all motorists.”
The roll-out aims to do away with cumbersome cash transactions at toll booths, in favor of an RFID system that ensures speedy and efficient throughput.
This is particularly relevant for users of major expressways managed by MPTC (Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation), which includes NLEX, SCTEX, CALAX and CAVITEX C5 Link.
If you’re a motorist who hasn’t yet stepped into the realm of RFID, now is the opportune time to make the switch. EasyTrip RFID stickers will enable you to glide through toll lanes without fumbling for loose change, thereby streamlining your travel experience.
For those who already use the AutoSweep RFID system, this new initiative offers a seamless transition. Existing Autosweep stickers will be recognized across all MPTC expressways.
To achieve this, motorists need to visit an EasyTrip RFID Station, where their Autosweep stickers will be integrated into the unified system. It’s important to note that users will still need to manage and reload two separate RFID accounts for now.
The transition is designed to be as smooth as your drive. New users will need to fill out a subscription form detailing essential personal information, including their name, mobile number for account advisories, and email address for monthly statements.
They are also required to provide vehicle details, either through a plate or conduction number, or by presenting an Official Receipt and Certificate of Registration. An initial load, based on your vehicle’s class, is also mandatory to activate the RFID sticker.
Easytrip personnel will assist new users in selecting from two types of RFID stickers designed to accommodate a variety of vehicle setups. The stickers can be affixed either on the headlamp or the windshield, each offering an identical level of efficiency and convenience.
As for the acquisition of these stickers, motorists can utilize online resources like Google Maps or the EasyTrip Station Finder to locate a nearby RFID installation station.
While some toll plazas also offer this service, visiting dedicated stations is advisable to circumvent potential congestion. Notably, starting September 1, additional toll plazas including Pulilan Northbound, Sta. Rita Northbound, and others will also join this initiative.
