League-leading Lyceum of the Philippines University shoots for its fourth straight win when it clashes with San Sebastian College in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 99 seniors’ basketball tournament today at the Filoil EcoOil Centre today.
Game time is at 4 p.m. as the unbeaten Pirates look to add the Golden Stags to their list of victims after toppling three of the top title contenders in their previous outings.
Meanwhile, clashing in the double-header curtain-raiser are the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and Arellano University with both teams seeking to snap their losing streaks at 2 p.m.
Lyceum head coach Gilbert Malabanan will again pin his hopes on reliable leaders Enoch Valdez and NCAA Player of the Week Shawn Umali as well as the rest of his crew.
“I have been saying this since last season: My team is unpredictable. You won’t know who will explode for us,” Malabanan said.
San Sebastian, which is currently in sixth place with a 1-1 win-loss record, is hoping to ride the momentum of its 111-86 rout of Arellano last week.
“The keyword is respect. Respect your coaches, teammates and opponents. Our chances will depend on how we will show every game. But definitely, we will work hard,” Stags head coach John Kallos said.
