Games today:

2 p.m — San Sebastian vs Perpetual
4 p.m. — Arellano vs EAC
A resurgent Emilio Aguinaldo College side is now looking to climb to third place as it takes on Arellano University today in Season 99 National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Both squads lock horns at 4 p.m. as the Generals aim to get their fourth win in six games.
For the Chiefs, they are looking to get another win after an 87-80 victory over defending champion Letran College the last time.
EAC is currently sharing fourth place with San Beda University with identical 3-2 win-loss records while Arellano is tied at eighth place with University of Perpetual Help System Dalta with similar 1-4 slates.
In the 2 p.m. match, the Altas look to break a two-game losing streak when they face San Sebastian College in the curtainraiser.
Still, the Generals will be the ones to watch out for after their 87-80 win over league-leading Lyceum of the Philippines last Wednesday.
EAC, which languished in the bottom of the standings in Season 98, made head turns after taking the scalp of the Pirates, who are one of this year’s Final Four favorites.
King Gurtiza was a revelation for the Generals, unloading 18 points against Lyceum with Nat Cosejo adding 14.
Still, Generals head coach Jerson Cabiltes, a champion coach in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, isn’t satisfied just yet as he wants to steer the squad to its first trip to the Final Four since joining the country’s oldest league in 2009.
“I’m not here to break any records or any winning streak or anything. There’s only one streak I’m looking at — making it to the Final Four. I’m hoping that they will work hard in order to get there,” Cabiltes said.
“King is an all-around player. He’s aggressive on offense, but the good thing is he’s crashing the boards and he’s playing defense.”
