AP Bren took the first M5 Mobile Legends World Championship slot of the Philippines following a dominant win over Blacklist International in the upper bracket finals of MPL Season 12 Playoffs earlier today at EVM Convention Center in Quezon City.
AP Bren, formerly Bren Esports, dominated the series with a stunning 3-0 sweep over three-time MPL champion Blacklist International. Now guaranteed at least a second-place finish, AP Bren will battle the winner between ECHO and Blacklist in the lower bracket final for the championship.
“I am very proud that we are going to M5,” AP Bren team captain and M2 world champion Pheww said after the match.
“I am so happy to be back on the world stage. I am hoping that we can make you guys proud,” AP Bren coach and M2 world champion Ducky added.
Defending MPL champion ECHO, meanwhile, snapped its losing skid with a win over RSG PH. After winning 11 straight matches, ECHO lost the last three remaining series in the regular season before losing its upper bracket match with Blacklist International in the Playoffs.
The defeat sent ECHO crashing to the lower bracket lower bracket where they beat RSG by 3-1 to advance to the lower bracket final against Blacklist tomorrow, Saturday, at 6:00 PM. The winner of the upcoming match will cop the country’s last slot to M5 which is slated to take place later this year.
