It took Jhazeel Trinidad less than a round to display his frightening firepower late Saturday night during Manny Pacquiao Presents: Blow-By-Blow in Kamuning, Quezon City.
Retaining his Philippine Boxing Federation light-flyweight crown, Trinidad unleashed his furious fists early and the referee had no choice but to intervene as Guinahon, fighting out of Cagayan de Oro City, was left helpless after absorbing heavy bombardment.
Representing the Elorde Fight Team of Sucat-Parañaque, Trinidad boosted his record to 11-0 with six knockouts while the loss sent Guinahon’s mark skidding to 9-2 with one knockout.
In the main supporting fight, Noli James Maquilan was awarded a fourth-round stoppage win over former amateur standout Dannel Maamo in their battle for the vacant PBF super-fly diadem.
Maquilan floored Maamo in the first round with a crackling right but Maamo gamely rose and even went on to stand toe-to-toe with Maquilan until a freak accident happened in the fourth frame.
As both fighters got entangled, they went down and it was Maamo who got hurt when his left arm hit the canvas hard.
