Kris Rosales went on a shooting rampage and NLEX spoiled an explosive return of Terrence Romeo to turn back San Miguel Beer in overtime, 117-113, in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup Wednesday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Rosales caught fire just when his team needed him the most to completely overcome a 19-point deficit.
He hit three triples inside the final two minutes of regulation, including the game-tying basket in the last nine seconds of the fourth, that sent the game to overtime.
In the extra period, Rosales also got a big lift from import Thomas Robinson, who helped him in putting the finishing touches.
Robinson played a statement game against a team he should supposed to play for last season.
The National Basketball Association veteran came away with 42 points and 20 rebounds while Rosales contributed 19 markers.
Romeo scattered 28 points in a promising showing since returning after being sidelined for most of last season due to injuries.
It was a big bounce-back win for the Road Warriors, who went on a similar situation of squandering a big lead in a 101-113 setback last time around.
