Alex Eala lost to France’s Oceane Dodin, 1-6, 5-7, in the final of the W40 Petange women’s singles tournament at the Tennis Club Petange in Petange, Luxembourg last Sunday.
Eala was on the court for one hour and 23 minutes before bowing out against her French foe, ranked at No. 101 in the WTA, in her last tournament of 2023.
With this, the graduate of the Rafael Nadal Academy finished the year with two titles in the professional circuit at the W25 Yecla in Spain and the W25 Roehampton in England.
She also bagged two bronze medals in her debut in the 19th Asian Games in the women’s singles and the mixed doubles with Francis Alcantara.
