San Beda University keeps its Final Four hopes alive by hurdling one of its toughest series of matches in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 99 seniors basketball tournament.
With their campaign on the line, the Red Lions took down two other contenders for the last two semis berths remaining all thanks to the heroics of Yukien Andrada.
The third-year cager was the catalyst of San Beda’s resurgence, putting up impressive numbers that built his case for the coveted Collegiate Press Corps NCAA Player of the Week recognition presented by major sponsor San Miguel Corporation and backed by minor sponsors Discovery Suites and Jockey for the period of 14 to 19 November.
Andrada averaged 20.0 points in an impressive 53.35 percent shooting clip from three-point range while 3.0 rebounds in two outings as he bested Lyceum University of the Philippines’ Enoch Valdez and University of Perpetual Help System Dalta’s Jielo Razon for the weekly honors deliberated by the print and online covering the beat.
San Beda snapped a two-game skid with Andrada leading the way with victories over heavyweight teams College of St. Benilde and Jose Rizal University.
