With a holistic approach in scouting and developing promising local motorsport drivers to elite levels, Resultado Racing formally unveiled its new go-kart team members recently at the Bellevue Hotel in Alabang, Muntinlupa.
“We will strive to revolutionize the game (of motorsport) by providing professional training and advanced motorsport techniques that rival those used by top racing teams in the industry,” said Resultado Racing team owner and go-kart enthusiast Theo Zaragoza during the introduction of the squad.
More than just producing podium finishers, Zaragoza stressed “that our primary focus will be on the personal development of each of our racers. Winning becomes a by-product of our character-building and racing program.”
“We aim to set a good foundation that starts with sportsmanship and discipline. Ultimately, our mission is to cultivate exceptional racers capable of tackling the challenges and demands of motorsports through the holistic development of our team.”
A prominent chef and food stylist in the advertising and food and beverage industries, Zaragoza said that “while we want to cultivate a culture of excellence among our team members, we want them to also have fun and enjoy what we do in what we hope to accomplish.”
The Resultado Racing chief was grateful that he was able to attract go-karters who have whole-heartedly bought into his vision and progressive concepts in assembling a formidable squad for the 2024 competition season.
They are led by 2023 ROK Grand Prix and ROTAX Clubman winner Mikel Fuentes, who will be the team captain, and precocious Bern Corpino, 16, the 2022 Junior Karter of the Year and 2023 Senior Karter of the Year.
All proven champions and well-known podium finishers in their own right, the other members are Luis Segundo, Von Viray, Kenneth Tan, junior karter Akhina Santos, 2021 Cadet Rookie Karter of the Year, Andretti Santos, 2022 Cadet Karter of the Year, Asian Karting Open Championship back-to-back runner-up Lucio Reyes and Mini ROK racer Tino Zaragoza.
Overseeing the go-kart drivers as the head coach is multi-titled racer Milo Rivera, the 2012 Asian Karting Open Championship Formula 125 Senior champion and 2012 “International Karter of the Year.”
“This is a huge challenge that I hope that I can live up to,” Rivera, a five-time Automobile Association Philippines “Driver of the Year” and two-time Golden Wheels Award winner, said.
Besides being a member of the international senior team, Corpino, on the other hand, will also double as coach of the Cadet, Mini ROK and junior racers.
Resultado Racing Team members will be provided with personalized professional coaching and training, expert mechanics — one for each driver — tuners, fitness trainers, nutritionists and physicians who will address both their physical and mental well-being, Zaragoza said.
“Our team members will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, racing clinics and workshops plus other activities to enhance not only their driving but personal skills,” Zaragoza said.
