Wushu Federation of the Philippines secretary general Julian Camacho has been reelected as member of the International Wushu Federation in the IWUF Congress during the 16th World Wushu Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
A vice president of Wushu Federation of Asia and incumbent IWUF Ethics Committee member who drafted the IWUF Code of Ethics, Camacho was appointed vice chairman of the latter body.
Having at the service of wushu for more than three decades, Camacho was also given a new assignment as member of the Supervisory Committee, the final authority in the conduct of the World Wushu Championships.
Along with the newly-elected IWUF executive board headed by Goa Zhidan, Camacho will serve in his three positions until 2027.
Goa is the current Minister of General Administration of Sport of China and has strongly supported wushu development so his election is vital to wushu’s movement towards inclusion in the Olympic Games program.
