Filipino racer Iñigo Anton aims to make an impact in his Formula 4 debut when he campaigns in the F4 South East Asia Championships at the Sepang International Circuit in Sepang, Malaysia from 25 to 26 November.
Anton, 19, said he will be using everything he learned in his first F4 race in his career.
The University of Baguio student will be the third Filipino driver in the tournament alongside Joaquin Garrido and Bianca Bustamante.
“When it comes to this race, this is the biggest race in my career and over 12 years, I’ve known how to handle different kinds of situations,” Anton said during a press briefing at the Manila Yacht Club.
“Coming into this, especially after just finishing my Philippine season last weekend, I will use all the experience in this race.”
Anton will be facing 25 other racers from around the world in the tournament.
Anton’s coach and father, Carlos Anton, said they will be familiarizing themselves on the race track despite the short time they have before the race.
“They’re going around the race track tomorrow (Wednesday) and they’re going around every inch of the race track with their bicycles. They’re just really going to study the track,” the elder Anton said.
