Finally, Rain or Shine is winless no more.
The Elasto Painters cracked the win column on Saturday night as they edged Blackwater, 115-110, in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup at the Philsports Arena.
Import Demetrius Treadwell had a much-improved performance this time as he finished with a double-double performance of 14 points and 18 rebounds, but it was the more balanced distribution of scoring from the locals which proved to be the deciding factor in Rain or Shine’s first win of the season after six games.
Andrei Caracut led six Rain or Shine players ending up in double figures as he scored 17 markers, while rookie Adrian Nocum had another solid showing, finishing with 14 points, the same output produced by Leonard Santillan.
Jhonard Clarito chipped in 11 points while Mark Borboran stepped up and produced 10 for the Elasto Painters, who bucked the absence of Beau Belga and Gian Mamuyac, who missed the game due to flu, and Keith Datu, who was just discharged from the hospital and recovering from pneumonia.
