De La Salle Santiago Zobel ruled the Middle School Championship division of the 2023 Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines Interschool last Sunday at Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club Norman and Aoki courses.
Woodrose Paref took the team title in Middle School Developmental class, while Homeschool Global captured the crown in the Lower School Championship.
Zobel accumulated 519 points to best Ateneo de Manila Team 1 (514) and Team 2 (500) which placed second and third, respectively. Saint Pedro Poveda School was fourth (442), while Xavier School Team 1 was fifth (395).
Woodrose’s 376 total was enough to overcome the challenge of British School Manila which had 318 and Zobel which totaled 302. Everest Team 1 (290) and International School Manila (273) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
With 409 points, Homeschool eclipsed Xavier Team 1 (341), Immaculate Conception Academy (337), Zobel (274) and Assumption College (273) which rounded up the top five finishers.
Stephanie Gaisano Gan of ICA lorded it over the Lower School individual competition for Girls 6-under with 172 points. Tyly Bernardino of Poveda (130) and Aleinna Rose Villanueva of Assumption (74) placed second and third, respectively.
Kenzo Tan of Xavier copped the Boys 6-Under (182) with Cole Galvez of Uno High School (137) and Aiden Pizarro of Zobel (132) in tow; Kamila del Mundo of Homeschool triumphed in Girls 7-8 with 216, besting Venus delos Santos of Coral na Bato Elementary School (202) and Athena Winter Serapio of ICA (166).
Boys 7-8 crown went to Halo Pangilinan of Homeschool (178) with Zoji Tyro Edoc of Gracewood Academy (175) and Sooren Lee of Noblesse International School (166) as second and third; Girls 9-Above top plum went to Maria Brianna Macasaet of Assumption (203) over Cameryn Yu of ICA (95) and Julia Mendoza of Assumption (29).
