4 p.m. — Kaya FC-Iloilo vs Incheon United FC
Kaya FC-Iloilo seeks to end its AFC Champions League campaign on a winning note in a showdown against Incheon United FC tonight at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Winless in five games in Group G, the Lions are looking to get over the hump in their final game set at 4 p.m.
Kaya also guns for a payback over the same squad that handed it team a 0-4 beating last 3 October at the Sungui Arena Park in Incheon.
Incheon, which aims to advance to the Round of 16, is in second place with a 3-0-2 win-draw-loss record.
Days after the Lions won the 2023 Copa Paulino Alcantara, head coach Colum Curtis is confident his club would finally pull one through.
“We just had a quick meal after the Copa game and the players were ready to go the next morning. Everyone was focused on their physical recovery. Everyone is just physically preparing for tomorrow’s game,” Curtis said.
“We missed Jarvey (Gayoso to suspension) in the (Copa) final but he’s training well. He’s focused on featuring in this game by making it into the selection. Any player who was missing and came back is a big boost for everyone.”
Aside from Gayoso, Curtis will also bank on Abou Sy, Arnel Amita and Daizo Horikoshi for the much-needed firepower.
Incheon head coach Cho Sung-Hwan, on the other hand, wants his squad to remain focused on booking a slot into the knockout stages.
