Alabang Country Club has reportedly offered Benjie Sumulong a fresh one-year contract extension as golf director with one month left to the staging of its signature tournament: The annual Mango Tee member-guest meet.
The 66-year-old Sumulong, one of the finest senior golfers in the country, has been key to the success of this year’s Mango Tee.
Aside from resuming his tenure with Alabang, Sumulong is also expected to steer the club in the Philippine Airlines Interclub in Cagayan de Oro in February.
Meantime, Sumulong is in the thick of preparations for the Mango Tee which will have a kick-off sponsors’ event on 22 January ahead of the main competitions which will run from 29 January to 3 February.
Sumulong recently won the “Mommy Maling” Montecillo Alumni Invitational at the Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac.
