Bianca Pagdanganan and Daniella Uy wound up tied for 23rd place in the individual while both Philippine pairs finished outside the top 10 Saturday in the Simone Asia Pacific Cup at Pondok Indah Golf and Country Club in Jakarta.
It was a dismal finish for four of the country’s finest female golfers considering that just last year, Princess Superal ruled the meet and steered Team Philippines to second-place finish along with Pauline del Rosario.
Ironically, Superal got the worst finish among the Filipinas, turning in a 14-over 230 following a 79 on the third and last round. She was tied for 45th place.
Ardina was five-over after a 72 for a share of 28th place. Pagdanganan wrapped things up with a 76, while Uy had a 74 for 219 each.
Ardina and Uy placed 13th after shooting eight-over, while the pair of Superal and Pagdanganan was tied for 19th with a 17-over finish.
Thai star Atthaya Thitikul clinched the individual honor with a seven-shot victory, shooting 69 for a 14-under total of 202. South Korean Lee Daeyon was solo second with 209 following a 71.
Thitikul then carried Jaravee Boonchant to team championship, ending with a 15-under to beat three South Korean pairs.
