Mobile Legends developer Moonton Games has rebranded the Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup to Mid Season Cup for 2024.
What used to be a tournament for the best Southeast Asian teams to collide, MSC expanded its realm last year when it added several regions including North America, Middle East and North Africa, and Turkey.
This year, China is the latest to join what has become a massive international tournament. According to Moonton Games, the rebranding of MSC is in accordance with its vision of inclusivity.
“The Mid-Season Cup was rebranded in line with Moonton Games’ Esports for Everyone vision to promote diversity and inclusivity for more global athletes to have the opportunity to compete in one of the most-watched esports tournaments worldwide,” Moonton said in a statement.
“The Mid Season Cup will be held outside Southeast Asia for the first time, with more participating regions, including China, and a larger prize pool.”
In 2023, Indonesian powerhouse ONIC Esports ruled the tournament by beating PH fan-favorite Blacklist International by 4-2 in the finals.
