The U Series of Poker opened its 2024 season with an array of lined-up events Friday at the renowned Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City.
With expectations of another banner year, USOP pulled the curtains up with the popular Mystery Bounty, an event that is sure to kick off the season in style.
In partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association, anticipation is high for a large turnout with last year attracting 534 entries. This is the first of six Head Hunter events lined up. Expect some early aggression as players attempt to reach the money round of 12.5 percent of the field.
Each entry flight plays down to an ITM of 12.5 percent of the field. Unlike traditional bounty events, bounty rewards only come in play starting Day 2 once everyone is in the money. All bounty prizes remain a secret until drawn.
As the festival progresses, Head Hunters will have their hands full with a total of six bounty events scheduled. Non-mystery events are the best way to make one’s buy-in back and more right from the onset. For every player scalped, the executioner instantly receives a bounty reward.
In addition to the Mystery Bounty opener are four events guaranteed to crown a champion by night’s end.
Following a booming 2023, USOP opens the new year with a bigger and richer Taiwan festival. Compared to its launch last year, the schedule has increased from 23 trophy events to 45 trophy events. This ensures players plenty of chances to become a USOP champion. Buy ins range from NTD 5,000 (~USD 160) up to NTD 50,000 (~USD 1,590).
Running until the 15th, the 11-day series is headlined by the NTD 15,000,000 (~US$ 478,270) guaranteed MAIN EVENT with buy in set at NTD 33,000 (~USD 1,075).
