San Miguel Beer will be bringing in its big guns as it prepares for the quarterfinals of the Commissioner’s Cup of the Philippine Basketball Association.
Beermen team manager Gee Abanilla said they will activate seven-time Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo and Kyt Jimenez when they face Blackwater in their last game of the eliminations on Friday.
The 6-foot-10 Fajardo has been sidelined for the past six weeks after fracturing his right ring finger during San Miguel’s 115-110 win over Rain or Shine on 29 November.
Jimenez, on the other hand, played his first game for the Beermen on 19 November but suffered an eye injury after getting hit by an inadvertent elbow from Cliff Hodge in their 93-83 victory.
Abanilla said both Fajardo and Jimenez have already been cleared and ready to rumble to get their feet wet in time for the playoffs.
“June Mar is cleared to play as well as Kyt Jimenez,” Abanilla said.
The Beermen are tied with Barangay Ginebra at fourth to fifth places with a 7-3 win-loss record.
They are looking to end the elimination round with a win over the Bossing to land at the top four and pocket a twice-to-beat incentive.
