Stallion Laguna FC signed two new players to beef up their squad for the upcoming Philippines Football League.
The Stallions announced the signing of Chiraco FC goalkeeper Freddy Cortez from the United States and Brazilian and former VOCEM forward Théo over the weekend on their social media account.
Stallion finished in third place last season with an 11-2-9 win-draw-loss record.
Head coach Ernest Nieras told DAILY TRIBUNE that Cortez’s height and Théo’s attacking style will work wonders for the club in the PFL, which begins this February.
“This keeper is 6-foot-5 and he played in California. Our partner in the United States watched him play and recommended him to us,” said Nieras as he added that the club will register the players for the season.
“He (Théo) has known qualities of a good striker. His playing experience and his credentials made us interested in him that’s why our US partner went to look at him and sent us videos that’s why we signed him for the upcoming season.”
The recruits will join the likes of Finn McDaniel, Abraham Placito and Michael Menzi.
