Sayonara, Daizo!

Kaya FC-Iloilo forward Daizo Horikoshi bids the club farewell after a fruitful stint in 2023.

The club made the announcement on its social media page, thanking the Japanese forward for his contributions.

Horikoshi, 27, netted 30 goals in 40 appearances while wearing the Kaya jersey.

“Arigato, Daizo Horikoshi!,” the club posted on its social media page.

“An incredible era comes to a close as we bid farewell to the Kanagawa Speedster. Thank you for all the goals, assists, and magic these past four seasons; and may your next chapter be as prolific as it was with us!”

During his stint with Kaya, Horikoshi won two Copa Paulino Alcantara trophies and gave the club its first Philippines Football League title.

The year 2023 has been Horikoshi’s best with the club, netting a combined 22 goals in the PFL, Copa and the AFC Champions League.

He won two Golden Balls and two Golden Boot honors during his four-year stint with the club.

Kaya has yet to announce a new forward as the PFL season opens in February.

Also, Horikoshi has not announced his next club for 2024.
