Filipinas forward Chandler McDaniel goes to Costa Rica after signing with Dimas Escazu in the Liga Promerica Femenina.
McDaniel, who was a part of the national team that participated in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup last July, hopes to use her stint with the Filipinas in her bid to make heads turn in her new environment.
Chandler and her sister Olivia last played for Stallion Laguna FC last year before signing with Austrian team FC Pinzgau Saalfelden
“I hope that experience will help me in my new environment. And it will help the team succeed,” McDaniel said on the club’s social media page.
The 25-year-old forward played 15 games for the Philippines and scored six goals.
McDaniel will be relied upon by the squad as it plays in the Torneo de Copa UNIFFUT on 28 January against second-division side AD Carmelita.
The national team wishes the best for McDaniel’s new stint overseas.
“All the best to Chandler McDaniel who has switched clubs from Europe to Central America and will soon compete for Dimas Escazú in the 2024 season of the #LigaPromericaFemenina, the top division for women’s football in Costa Rica,” the team’s social media page posted.
