Petecio, Obiena clinch Athletes’ Commission spots

Tokyo Olympics silver medalist and boxer Nesthy Petecio got the most number of votes for a second term in the POC Athletes’ Commission after an election was held Saturday afternoon at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Petecio amassed 121 out of 610 votes to continue her term in her post which serves as a link between the athletes and the POC officials.

Pole vaulter EJ Obiena also got in with 99 votes while swimmer and incumbent Athletes’ Commission member Jessie Khing Lacuna returns for a second term with 83 votes.

Gilas Pilipinas women’s center Jack Animam had 80 votes with Filipinas goalkeeper Inna Palacios completing the cast with 61 votes.
