For over 30 years, the Ford Explorer has maintained its popularity, remaining one of the most popular mid-size SUVs in the automotive market.

A combination of a striking exterior design coupled with plush and spacious interiors, Ford’s premium SUV is built for family adventures with its commanding presence on the road, ample seating and cargo space, smart connectivity, all-weather and all-terrain capability, and advanced safety features.

“We are excited to share that the Explorer is now available to more customers especially those who are looking for a spacious and sophisticated SUV. The Explorer is an important product in our SUV lineup, and we look forward to seeing more Filipino families experience its performance, comfort and capability,” said Mike Breen, Ford Philippines managing director.

The Explorer retails at P3.498 million and is available across all Ford dealerships nationwide. Customers can also reserve the Explorer through the company’s online reservation portal.

The Explorer is available in eight colors: Star White, Agate Black, Rapid Red, Stone Blue, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Gray, Forged Green and Oxford White.

Customers who purchased the Explorer on 1 January 2024, and those who will be purchasing the SUV onwards, will automatically receive a “Peace of Mind and Free Labor” package, a complimentary vehicle inspection service after two months or 2,000 km (whichever comes first), as well as two free labor on periodic maintenance schedule services, as part of Ford’s commitment to enhance ownership experience.

7 driving modes

Powering the Explorer is a 2.3-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine mated with 10-speed automatic transmission that can deliver up to 300 horsepower and a maximum 420 newton-meter of torque. Equipped with an intelligent 4WD and a Terrain Management System, the Explorer gives the driver an option to switch to seven selectable driving modes — Normal, Sport, Eco, Slippery, Deep Snow/Sand, Tow/Haul and Trail — optimizing driving performance as needed.

For added safety, the Explorer is equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ Technology, a suite of intuitive driver-assist technologies and safety features that inspire confidence on the road.

These include the Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping System, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Evasive Steering Assist and Reverse Braking Assist.

It also features a SecuriCode Keyless-Entry Keypad that allows customers to unlock the vehicle without a key or remote, and with only just a numeric code to enter on the keypad located at the driver side door.

Commanding presence

The Explorer’s exterior design while understated, commands significant road presence, thanks to its bold lines, sweeping contours, wraparound LED headlights, and enormous 20-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside, the Explorer is brimming with sophistication: Leather seats have micro perforation and accent stitching, with those of the driver and front passenger, heated and ventilated. There’s an acoustic windshield and new dual-wall dashboard between the engine and passenger compartments to ensure a quiet cabin at each drive.

The Explorer also comes with multi-color ambient lighting, illuminated vanity mirrors and full center console with armrest and storage bin. Completing the amenities are the twin-panel moonroof, remote start system, Tri-zone electronic automatic temperature control, power windows and power door locks, cup and bottle holders, and 2nd row sun blinds, among others.

The SUV is also fitted with a high-performance B&O sound system with 12 speakers.

At the center console is an eight-inch color touchscreen with SYNC 3 voice-activated technology. It lets passengers easily pair mobile devices with the vehicle, and use voice commands for hands-free operation.

The Explorer is also capable of wireless charging positioned in front of the center console armrests, allowing passengers to keep their mobile phone within reach without the messy cables.
