PASSI, Iloilo — Eman Bacosa took a page from his illustrious father’s fighting style by stopping Jerson Bacolohan in the third round of their lightweight clash Friday at the City of Passi Arena.
The son of the legendary Manny Pacquiao, Bacosa sent his opponent from Cebu with a barrage of hard rights and lefts, forcing referee Oliver Garcia to stop the fight just 45 seconds into the scheduled four-rounder.
With the highly-appreciative crowd cheering for him, Bacosa scored two knockdowns in the second round.
The victory raised Bacosa’s record to 2-0-1 with two knockouts while the loss was Bacolohan’s first as he was making his professional debut.
Bacosa entered the ring with Eye of the Tiger blaring from the speakers, the same tune his esteemed father had used during his fights in the United States.
And just like the eight-division champion, Bacosa didn’t waste time buckling down to work as he went on a punching spree, leaving the excited crowd reacting to just about everything that he did.
Bacosa’s fight was a part of a heavy 13-bout program of Manny Pacquiao Presents: Blow By Blow, a weekly show aired every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. on One Sports.
