Azkals defender Daisuke Sato found a new home with the returning Davao Aguilas FC.
The club signed the Filipino-Japanese booter for the upcoming Philippines Football League kicking off next month.
Davao announced Sato’s acquisition and its league comeback after six years on Saturday through its social media.
Sato will bring in his international experience having seen action in Indonesia where he played two seasons with Persib Bandung.
“Now, I’m coming back home and representing the city where I was born,” Sato said on the club’s social media post.
“King City of the south, the UNDERDOG is here.”
Sato last played for Global FC in 2016 before taking his act to various leagues around the world.
Davao hopes to make an impact in the latest PFL season after reaching the finals of the Copa Paulino Alcantara last year.
The Aguilas, unfortunately, suffered a 1-1 (4-3) penalty shootout loss to Kaya FC-Iloilo.
The PFL is set to open on 9 March with 15 teams looking to claim the crown.
