Throughout its 76-year history, JMC has consistently demonstrated excellence by being one of the leaders in China’s huge and very competitive commercial vehicle segment.
Despite the challenges, the brand topped last year’s light commercial bus and van segment in China with a 22.7 percent market share, and ranked second in the pickup truck segment with a 23 percent market share.
Such unparalleled success in China serves as JMC’s blueprint to its strategic expansion into the Philippine market. As it sets new benchmarks for excellence, JMC will be backed by the support of global mobility company Astara Philippines.
“With a proven track record of delivering vehicles that seamlessly blend performance, durability and style, JMC has come a long way. With our strength as the only commercial vehicle manufacturer established in China and joint ventures with two Fortune Global 500 companies, we stand committed in our pursuit of quality, ensuring that all touch points from manufacturing, sales, and service are held to the highest standards,” said Raoul Picello, managing director of Astara Philippines.
JMC’s venture to the Philippine market represents a strategic move to impart its winning formula to a wider audience. Supported by a diverse team of over 34,000 employees, its presence goes beyond China. “JMC is ready for the world. With advanced technology and a robust production line, backed by the support of over 480 global suppliers, JMC stands at the forefront of innovation, a prime example of excellence in the industry,” said JMC brand head Arlan Reyes.
Setting new standards
JMC’s venture into the Philippines signifies the brand’s intention to introduce a new era of automotive excellence in the country.
The Filipino market is now set to experience first-hand the brand’s newest lineup of pickup trucks packed with new technologies, power, and reliability at great value for money.
While no particular models were revealed, the market is excited with the possibility of finally having the Grand Avenue, which is the brand’s flagship pickup truck. The updated Vigus pick-up truck could also be introduced.
“JMC’s arrival in the Philippines is not just a market expansion; it’s the introduction of a legacy. Filipino consumers will soon experience firsthand the quality, innovation and reliability that have defined JMC’s presence in China. The brand looks forward to forging lasting connections with the Philippine community,” Reyes shared.
