Seasoned and emerging local and international players have gathered in Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon for the staging of the 75th Philippine Airlines Interclub golf tournament.
For its diamond celebration, the prestigious event will be held from 19 February to 4 March at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro City and the Del Monte Golf Club in Bukidnon.
The Seniors Division will commence from 19 to 25 February while the Men’s Regular Division will take place from 27 February to 4 March.
As thousands of golf players converge every year, the publicity that the tournament generates, the flight revenues earned and the tourism-related activities that unfold have collectively made the Philippines top-of-mind as a golfing hub and a prime golfing destination through the decades.
As such, the 75th PAL Interclub will be expected to generate heightened economic activity around golf course communities, especially in Mindanao.
More than positioning Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon as prime destinations for golf tourism, however, this year’s diamond tournament will also be a charitable effort for PAL’s various beneficiaries through the PAL Foundation.
