Bianca Pagdanganan wound up tied for 29th on Sunday after a closing-round 68 in the Honda LPGA Thailand won by hometown bet Patty Tavatanakit at the Siam Country Club Old Course.
As expected, Pagdanganan made a valiant charge for the upper rungs of the leaderboard scattering eight birdies (2-3-8-20-12-13-15-18).
But in the rush to make a strong finish, the 26-year-old Filipina bogeyed Nos. 4, 9, 16 and 17 to collect a nine-under 279.
That was 12 shots off Tavatanakit who finished with a five-under-par 67 for a 21-under 267 and the title before her home crowd in the $1.7-million event.
Tavatanakit barely escaped the late rally of Swiss Albane Valenzuela who sizzled with a nine-under-par 63 to wind up with 20-under 268.
Defending champion Lilia Vu of the United States finished tied for seventh after a 68 on the last day for 272, while Yuka Saso was T16 following a 69 for 275.
