The Philippines’ Bianca Pagdanganan failed to capture a single birdie all day as she struggled with a four-over-par 76 on Friday to slide deep in the LPGA HSBC Women’s World Championship scoreboard.
The 26-year-old Pagdanganan, who finished tied for 29th during her season debut in Thailand last week, found herself 10 strokes behind the leader in the $1.8-million event at Sentosa Golf Club Tanjong course.
She bogeyed Nos. 9, 10, 12 and 17 to come out with a three-over 137 entering the third round. She is now tied for 38th.
Following her 71 on the opening round, Pagdanganan had a tough day finding the fairways (9 of 4) and hitting the green in regulation (10 of 18). She putted 31 times during the round and relied heavily on her 279-yard average driving distance.
France’s Celine Boutier took the helm after two rounds, holding a one-stroke lead following a sensational eight-under-par 64.
Boutier had eight birdies in a flawless round to post a seven-under 137.
She is pursued by Japan’s Ayaka Furue who had a five-under-par 67 for a 138, while Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom is third at 139.
Yuka Saso, the Philippine-born Japanese, also failed to get her groove after a 75 to fall tied for 55th with five-over 149.
