Tagaytay Midlands leads Aviator

MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon — Tagaytay Midlands turned to a pair of former Philippine Basketball Association players to snatch the lead Saturday in the Aviator division of the 75th Philippine Airlines Men’s Regular Interclub golf team championships.

Ex-pro dribblers RJ Rizada and Arnold Pulido each shot 28 points at the Del Monte Golf Club while Tagaytay Midlands also drew 25 points from Jenz Tecson to improve its total to 169, four points ahead of Zamboanga Golf.

With Angelo Louie Marquez shooting 34 points, Zamboanga moved to second place with 165 points. Other scorers were Mohammad Fazlullah Abdelnooh and Reymond Moises with 29 and 28, respectively.

Sherwood Hills was in third spot with 160 following a second-round 82. Scoring for the Cavite-based squad were Joman Hidenobu Hirooka (30), Jae Kon Son (27), and Kyung Young Jung (25).

First-round leader Camp Aguinaldo fell to fourth with 159 followed by Ambagan Golf Club and Pueblo de Oro Team 2 with 157 and 153, respectively.

Over at the Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club in Cagayan de Oro City, San Juanico Golf Park and Country Club, led by Richard Lim’s 22 points, was on top In the Sportswriters division with 148 points.

Lanang Golf Club took the second spot with 145 behind Miguel Dizon’s 28 points.

South Cotabato Golf Club was running third with 144 points.

The 75th staging of the PAL Interclub is supported by diamond sponsors Mastercard and Asian Journal.

Platinum sponsors include Airbus, Primax Broadcasting Network and Araw Hospitality while gold sponsors are Tanduay and Asia Brewery.
