Peejay Barua flaunted his might, leading the Department of Agriculture to a quarterfinal finish in the Ramon Magsaysay Basketball League Open League recently.
Barua, who won a University Athletic Association of the Philippines crown for De La Salle University in 2006, led the Inspectors to three wins in seven matches to emerge as part of the Mythical Team.
The 36-year-old Barua dropped 36 points, eight rebounds and three assists in their 88-73 win over Kael Constructions, 28 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in their 95-93 conquest of Real One’s, and 31 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in their 89-82 victory over AO Kings.
Aside from Barua, also stepping up for the Inspectors of head coach Earl Joseph Lacson, team manager Atty. Jane Bacayo and assistant team manager Royal Feril were Mon Mabayo, Joshuq Delarama, Alfred Dejelo, Van Siangco, Justin Tañada, Christian Cimafranca, Anthon Castro, Ryan Abejar and Jay Cabrera.
Rounding out the squad, which advocates physical and mental health and awareness of food safety among athletes and stakeholders, were Federico Baello Jr., Jinky Magayaga, Jeric Menoy, Joseph Artienda, Christian Rubin, Milan Vargas and Roy Urbano.
