Japanese gymnast Kazuki Matsumi took the eighth spot from Yulo after he performed a higher execution score of 8.6 points compared to Yulo’s 8.2 points.
Yulo continues stint as he competes in the parallel bars, vault and pommel horse as of press time.
Also advancing to the medal round is Filipino-American Levi Jung Ruivivar after she finished in sixth place in the women’s uneven bars with 13.466 points.
Also set to compete in the Apparatus World Cup is Emma Malabuyo, who got the silver medal in the Cairo leg last February and will compete in the women’s floor exercise and balance beam.
With Yulo and Aleah Finnegan already clinching their spot for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Malabuyo and Ruivivar look to make the most of competing in the Apparatus World Cup legs to get into Paris.
