In addition to its M8, GAC Motor Philippines pulled off a surprise late last year with the teaser on its MPV, the M6 Pro.
This Friday, it’s about to step into center stage with the formal launch at Glorietta Activity Center in Makati.
Primed as a seven-seater, GAC is bringing a new player that will bump up against other seven-seaters. But with more upscale features.
It starts with P1.2 million.
Though the specs are still under wraps, the top-of-the-line GL variant will have captain’s seats, a rear seat that folds and reveals a flat floor, just like the GN6 that precedes the M6, and GAC’s signature interior and exterior styling.
The engine will be a 1.5-liter turbocharged Mega Wave Power gasoline engine that makes about 170 horse power and around 250 Newton-meter of torque.
It is also being speculated that the M6 Pro will come with a hybrid variant.
But what’s almost sure is that it features adaptive cruise control, an infotainment screen with smartphone pairing, and maybe blind-spot monitoring and a full suite of airbags.
However, the amenities at the back are expected to be a little more spartan compared to the M8.
But it sure is a big step up compared to comparable competitors in the segment or otherwise.
