MPL Season 11 champion ECHO scored its first win in its first appearance in the mobile MOBA tournament against a revamped ONIC PH in the regular season of MPL S13 last Saturday evening at Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati.
Bannering a familiar roster of KarlTzy, Bennyqt, Sanford, Sanji, and Jaypee, ECHO banked on the heroics of its star jungler and gold laner to emerge victorious via sweep.
According to KarlTzy, his inspired performance can be credited to his desire to be a champion again and qualify for the MSC 2024 later this year where teams would battle for the lion’s share of the $3 million prize pool.
“MSC is different now. We want to be champions over and over,” KarlTzy quipped.
RSG, meanwhile, went toe-to-toe with a game Omega Esports in a best-of-three series where they emerged victorious by 2-1. According to Coach Panda, having Demonkite back in the lineup after two missing him for two seasons is a major boost.
“He (Demonkite) is more mature and disciplined as a player. Plus he is a team player,” Panda explained.
“I am not dissing Irrad. My process of training Irrad, he has the best mechanical skills out of all the junglers I trained—no disrespect to Demonkite.”
