Pinoy golfers create own handicap system

SOCIAL MEDIA

With the handicapping system here in the Philippines still less than ideal, count on the Filipino golf lovers to come up with an excellent idea.

Just recently, it launched the Pinoy Golfers Rating System, a free service designed for the Pinoy golfers.

“Our platform offers an alternative approach to handicapping tailored to the unique nuances of the Philippine golfing landscape,” said the statement from PGRS.

“It is important to note that our platform is not positioned as a competitor to any official handicapping system currently in place in the country.”

It was borne of the ongoing brouhaha caused by the sudden termination of the handicapping system by the National Golf Association of the Philippines.

The whole issue has been subject to different interpretations and is expected to factor in the 5 April elections for the NGAP board of trustees.
