Eala, French pal gets through q’finals

Alex Eala and Estelle Cascino of France move on to the quarterfinal of the W75 Croissy-Beaubourg women’s doubles after a 5-7, 6-2, 10-6 win over Celine Naef of Switzerland and Prarthana Thombare of India on Thursday (Manila time) at the Comité Départemental de Tennis de Seine & Marne in France.

Eala and Cascino only needed one hour and 35 minutes to vanquish their foes and get closer to the title.

The Filipino-French tandem is set to face off against Emily Appleton of Great Britain and Isabella Haverlag of the Netherlands early Friday.

Meanwhile, the Rafael Nadal Academy’s patch to a singles title ends after a 6-4, 4-6, 1-6 loss to Mona Berthel of Germany in the Round of 16 of the women’s singles.
