The top brass of M4 world champion ECHO is singing praises to their unsung hero Robert Alexis “Trebor” Sanchez following their 4-0 win over Blacklist International this past weekend to capture the MPL Season 11 championship.
ECHO’s wins are usually credited to coach Harold “Tictac” Reyes, but the 42-year-old stressed that his fellow coach Trebor is their recipe to success, especially in making their hero picks.
“Coach Trebor is a huge help to us. He makes our drafts so all the heroes we play are his idea. Even the Valir pick, that came from him. He is crucial to us,” Tictac said.
“Coach Tictac and Coach Trebor are a combination. Tictac is the muscle of the team while Trebor is the brain. I can say that the coaching staff will not be complete without them,” ECHO country manager Mitch Liwanag added.
The 28-year-old Trebor joined ECHO last year and had his presence immediately felt when ECHO got a second place finish in MPL Season 10. Almost three months later, Trebor was also instrumental in ECHO’s success in M4 World Championship.
As far as Trebor is concerned, it does not take much to coach.
“It is harder to play than to coach. Coaching is easy because you just apply what you see in the players,” Trebor quipped.
