Softball Cup: Taiwanese rip Filipinos, 8-2

SOCIAL MEDIA

The Philippine men’s softball squad settled for silver in the CoEd Slow Pitch Softball Cup in Pattaya, Thailand.

Chinese Taipei repulsed the Philippines’ bold bid with an 8-2 win as the Taiwanese showed their mastery of the Filipinos whom they beat in the elimination round.

Despite the defeat, the Philippines will still be taking part in the first-ever WBCS Slow Pitch World Cup owing to its runnerup finish.

The Philippines’ final stint was made possible by wins over China (7-6), Singapore (15-6) and Thailand (31-11) in the single-round robin competition.

Also joining Chinese Taipei and the Philippines in the World Cup is China, which blanked Thailand, 11-0.

The women’s team, like the men’s, is also WC-bound.
