The Philippine Sports Commission encourages local coaches to watch the practices of teams competing in the Volleyball Nations League at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex starting 27 June.
PSC chairman Richard Bachmann said they will open the doors of the historic venue to allow local mentors to personally witness high level of training from the world’s best coaches and athletes.
Among the coaches expected to show local mentors how things are getting done are Nikola Grbić of world No. 1 Poland, Renan Dal Zotto of Brazil, Ferdinando De Giorgi of Italy, Philippe Blain of Japan, Gheorghe Crețu of Slovenia, Roberto Piazza of The Netherlands, Tuomas Sammelvuo of Canada and Wu Sheng of China.
“As the PSC supports the PNVF (Philippine National Volleyball Federation) and its hosting of this year’s VNL, this is a great opportunity for our local volleyball coaches as well to be equipped by the world’s best talent, and uplift our grassroots development in the sport,” Bachmann said.
The Chinese national team will arrive first in the country on 25 June followed by Japan, Netherlands, Brazil, Poland, Slovenia and Italy.
VNL is set from 4 to 9 July at the Mall of Asia Arena.
