Miguel Tabuena signed an even-par 71 to finish tied for 9th even as American Han Seung-su ran away with the Kolon — 65th Korea Open Golf Championship Sunday at the Woo Jeong Hills Country Club.

Tabuena, the lone Filipino seeing action in the Japan Tour leg, finished with a three-over 287, nine strokes behind Han who despite a final-round 71, captured the title with the only sub-par performance after four rounds (six-under 278).

The 28-year-old Tabuena, winner of the DGC Open three months ago, shot down three birdies (on Holes Nos. 5, 8 and 16) but got derailed by three bogeys (7, 10 and 11) in a roller-coaster performance.

He shared 9th place with South Koreans Han Jeong-woo, Shin Sanghun and Cho Mingyu who had last-round of 72, 72 and 74, respectively.

Han and second placer Kang Kyungnam of South Korea thus earned spots in the British Open slated next month at Royal Liverpool Golf Club.

Kang dished out a 71, six shots off Han, while Choi Seungbin carded a 68 for solo third place one stroke back.
