Keith Datu is working to elevate his game in preparation for the Philippine Basketball Association Rookie Draft this September.
The 6-foot-8 big man said he is working doubly hard in training while preparing all pertinent documents needed for the annual selection ceremony.
Datu was once reported to be joining De La Salle University in the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines but decided to stay in the United States to attend college until the opportunity of playing in the PBA cropped up.
Datu, however, was denied the opportunity after failing to secure all documents needed to make him eligible.
Still, he stayed in the Philippines and joined J&T Express in the PBA 3×3 tourney to familiarize himself with the local brand of game.
Datu said he will continue to play in the PBA 3×3 to be in tip-top condition.
“I will play in the 3×3 until the Draft in September,” Datu wrote via Messenger to Daily Tribune.
“I’m focused on getting better every day and trusting God where I’m supposed to be.”
